Why should I use your steel sheet tile support instead of tile support plates ?

Using our steel sheet tile support offers several advantages over traditional tile support plates, including :
1. Custom Fit : Steel sheets can be cut to the exact length of the roof, making installation easier.
2. Lightweight : Compared to traditional tile supports, the steel sheet is lighter, reducing the load on the framework and simplifying handling on site.
3. Exceptional Span : The exceptional span of our steel sheets limits the number of supports needed. Thus, fewer purlins are required for new constructions, and renovations can adapt to a wider range of frameworks without modifications.
4. Adjustable Width : The adaptation to the building also occurs at the building's corners through an accordion effect, allowing the installer to widen or narrow each sheet's width by ±2 cm. This flexibility and elasticity also absorb the deflections and counter-deflections of the load-bearing structure. 
   Due to their rigidity, traditional tile supports risk breaking over time, while our steel sheet can accommodate deformation.
5. Low Slope: The design of the support allows for installation on a minimum slope of 7% with tiles, without any additional waterproofing. On average, traditional tile supports require a minimum slope of 15%.
6. Increased Strength : The steel sheet provides a more robust base capable of supporting heavy loads and withstanding extreme weather conditions, such as hail. The interlocking of the sheets also enhances this strength. Additionally, the galvanized steel's durability allows the sheets to last much longer than traditional tile supports (fiber-cement).

Can other roofing materials be used besides canal tiles ?

Only canal tiles can be used as roofing material on our steel sheet, in accordance with technical notice ATec n°5.1/23-2591 (as they only serve an aesthetic role).

Does your system come with a warranty ?

Our system has a technical approval issued by the CSTB, which allows it to benefit from a ten-year warranty.

Question 4

Does the Citoit Système steel sheet resist bad weather ?

Accepted Answer

The stitching system and reinforced waterproofing allow the roof to withstand strong winds, heavy rains, and hail without the risk of deformation or infiltration.

Comment gérer l'isolation thermique ?

- Soit, en sous-face de la couverture avec espace ventilé entre l'isolation et la couverture, selon les dispositions
prévues par le DTU 40.35
- Soit, dans l'espace compris entre la sous-face de la couverture et le support continu de celle -ci, selon les dispositions
de traitement des "toitures chaudes" prévues par le Dossier Technique.

Afin de vérifier le respect des règlementations thermiques en vigueur, pour les bâtiments neufs et existants selon le cas, les
bâtiments équipés de ce procédé doivent faire l'objet d'études énergétiques.

Does your roofing system resist attempted break-ins ?

By its very nature, steel is unbreakable. This quality provides a barrier against burglary, preventing the removal of sheets or tiles to enter the building.

Question 7

Does a roof using the Citoit System panel meet the requirements imposed by the ABF ?

Accepted Answer

This depends on the projects and the constraints imposed by the architects of historic buildings in France. However, in general, the use of our system is not prohibited. Moreover, in projects involving photovoltaic panels, the integration of the panels (without additional elevation) is generally favored.

I am a private individual, can I install the steel sheets myself ?

However, it is important to keep in mind that labor costs are significantly reduced when using the Citoit Système steel sheets compared to traditional roofing solutions or tile support sheets.
As a guideline, the price per square meter of our sheets is only slightly higher than that of a tile support sheet, while offering superior performance and lower installation costs.

Is the Citoit Système process more complicated to install than a traditional steel sheet ?
